About Earthereal of Yorkshire

My name is Lois Skilleter and I'm based in Ilkley, on the edge of the famous Moor and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. 

I began my business as “beads in yorkshire” in October 2005, when my former career as a supply teacher was taking me too far from my home and family.

Initially I worked more with beads, but I became increasingly fascinated by the sheer beauty and variety of natural gemstones, to the extent of buying a tumbler and tumble-polishing my own rough rock, to create "freeform" jewellery. This, to me, reflected the natural beauty of the stones themselves with the minimum of artificial treatment. I also developed a feeling for the metaphysical healing qualities of the stones and out of this came my new business name, "Earthereal", reflecting both the earthly origin of the stones and their more spiritual meanings and qualities. This led me on to train in Crystal Healing, which in turn led me to Reiki.

I became "hooked" as I discovered the gentle healing power of Reiki and studied to Master Practitioner Western style, before discovering Japanese style which spoke to me in a completely different way. I took my Shinpiden (Master Teacher) course with a Japanese style Master and that is the way I practise and teach Reiki. In addition to all the levels, I offer a short, affordable Shoden (Reiki 1) course for teenagers.

I also offer massage therapies including Japanese Hand Massage, Thai Foot Massage and Indian Head Massage, which I teach for London Therapists. I also offer Natural Lift Facial Massage and Ayurvedic Facial Massage as wonderful relaxing therapies.

Therapies

 I gained my Usui Reiki Master Teacher qualification in March 2009 and have learnt both Western and Japanese style Reiki: I teach Japanese style Reiki as this resonates more deeply with my beliefs. (Please see the Reiki Healing section for further details.)  I have also gained Practitioner level in Karuna Reiki (TM) which enhances the energy available and thus facilitates extra healing. I have also undertaken a workshop in Quantum Touch (TM) healing, which can be used with my other therapies, and am studying for my Meditation Teacher's Diploma.

I am adding to my therapies whenever possible so as to offer a range of options to my clients. I currently offer the relaxing and uplifting Japanese Hand Massage, Indian Head Massage, Thai Foot Massage, Ayurvedic Facial Massage and Natural Lift Facial Massage as additions or alternatives to healing to promote relaxation.

I am more than happy to offer "tasters" of the therapies I offer at Pamper/Ladies' Nights for fundraising, or in your home with you and a group of friends for a fun "girls' night". I can also offer jewellery making or therapy tasters for hen weekends.

My clients are my first priority and I endeavour to offer a friendly, professional service to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable treatment experience. I believe strongly that we are our own best healers and that the therapist's main role is to facilitate this self healing for their clients.
