Thank you for visiting my web site! I run Earthereal of Yorkshire: my name is Lois Skilleter and I'm based in Ilkley, on the edge of the famous Moor and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.

Therapies

From Primary and Early Years teaching, I have worked my way through gemstone jewellery making to crystal healing, and from there, to Reiki, Massage, Aromatherapy and Meditation. I became "hooked" as I discovered the gentle healing power of Reiki and studied to Master Practitioner Western style, before discovering Japanese style which spoke to me in a completely different way. I took my Shinpiden (Master Teacher) course with a Japanese style Master and that is the way I practise and teach Reiki. It is more than simply a healing modality, it is a spiritual path where the responsibility for progression is entirely in the student's own hands, and the hands-on healing comes out of this practice and work on the Self. In addition, I run workshops for adults, children and families in massage, meditation, crystal healing, relaxation and Flexi-Kids Yoga.

I am passionate about using holistic therapies to enhance health and life experience, and am constantly adding to my repertoire. I am particularly keen to make holistic therapies accessible to young people who face so many pressures in modern life.

I am more than happy to offer "tasters" of the therapies I offer at Pamper/Ladies' Nights for fundraising, or in your home with you and a group of friends for a fun "girls' night". I can also offer therapy tasters for hen weekends.

Training

I love teaching and sharing the magic of holistic therapies, and am delighted to combine both my interests in my work. I see teaching as a two way process and often learn from my students as well as the other way round! I offer courses for qualified therapists, for those beginning a therapy career and for those who just want to learn more for interest.

 I gained my Usui Reiki Master Teacher qualification in March 2009 and have learnt both Western and Japanese style Reiki: I teach Japanese style Reiki as this resonates more deeply with my beliefs. Courses are run at all levels. (Please see the Reiki Courses section for further details.)

I also teach accredited 1 day Practitioner level therapy diploma courses on behalf of Vitality Holistic Therapies and  London Therapists.

"Interest only" workshops, which offer basic training for carers, and a fun way to find out more without the cost of a professional qualification, are available in most therapies.

I am always striving to expand the service I offer and am currently working on guided meditation CDs and distance learning courses.

My clients and my students are my first priority and I endeavour to offer a friendly, professional service to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable training or treatment experience. I believe strongly that we are our own best healers and that the therapist's main role is to facilitate this self healing for their clients.
